Soprano Paula Iancic studied voice at the "Gheorghe Dima" National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She made her debut as Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi – G. Puccini), Micaëla (Carmen – G. Bizet), Musetta, and Mimi (La Bohème – G. Puccini) on the opera stages of Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, and Iași.

As a member of the Opera Studio at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich between 2016 and 2018, Paula Iancic performed roles such as Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro and Papagena in The Magic Flute by W. A. Mozart, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel by E. Humperdinck, Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore by G. Donizetti, Zaida in Il turco in Italia by G. Rossini, Maria in Der Diktator by E. Krenek, a Flowermaiden in Parsifal by R. Wagner, and Oscar in Un ballo in maschera by G. Verdi. On this prestigious stage, she had the privilege of performing alongside international stars such as Diana Damrau, Mariusz Kwiecień, Nina Stemme, Alexander Tsymbalyuk, Christopher Maltman, René Pape, Vittorio Grigolo, Pavol Breslik, Matthew Polenzani, Ermonela Jaho, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, Olga Peretyatko, Alessandro Corbelli, Ambrogio Maestri, Anja Harteros, Simone Piazzola, Jonas Kaufmann, among others.

In 2019, Paula Iancic had her first collaboration with Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, performing the role of Philotis in Schade, dass sie eine Hure war by Anno Schreier (world premiere).

In recent years, Paula Iancic has expanded her repertoire with important new roles: Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro (Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, Romanian National Opera in Iași and Timișoara), Violetta Valéry in La Traviata (Opera in Poznań, Romanian National Opera in Iași and Timișoara), Liù in Turandot (Romanian National Opera Timișoara), Pamina in The Magic Flute (Opera in Poznań), Leonora in Il Trovatore, Desdemona in Otello, Adriana Lecouvreur in the eponymous opera, the title role in Madama Butterfly by G. Puccini (Romanian National Opera Timișoara), and Aida in the opera of the same name by Giuseppe Verdi (Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca).

Her vocal-symphonic repertoire includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Christ on the Mount of Olives, Te Deum by Antonín Dvořák, Magnificat by Baldassare Galuppi, Missa in angustiis by Joseph Haydn, Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Messa di Gloria by Gioachino Rossini, and Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G Major (D 167), Mass No. 5 in A-flat Major (D 678), and Mass No. 6 in E-flat Major (D 950).

Her musicality and distinctive vocal timbre have earned Paula Iancic numerous prestigious awards: Second Prize at the Mozart Competition in Cluj-Napoca (2013), Third Prize at the “Vox Artis” International Singing Competition in Sibiu (2014), First Special Prize at the “Alexandru Fărcaș” International Singing Competition in Arad (2015), Grand Prix – L'Assoluta at the Virginia Zeani Royal Voice Competition in Târgu-Mureș (2019), and Second Prize at the Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino, Italy (2022).

Since 2021, soprano Paula Iancic has been a member of the soloist ensemble of the Romanian National Opera in Timișoara, where she continues to perform to this day.
